Apple Unveils New MacBook Air Lineup with M3 Chip: Pre-Order Starting Today

The long wait is over! Just hours after the official announcement, Apple has introduced its updated MacBook Air lineup with the new M3 chip in 13-inch and 15-inch options. In a break from tradition, Apple unveiled its latest Macs through a press release.

New Design and Powerful Performance

The new M3 MacBook Air models boast a thin and light design with a durable aluminum unibody enclosure. With the M3 processor on board, these Macs offer power-efficient performance and exceptional portability. Claiming a top-notch performance and up to 18 hours of battery life, Apple has created the perfect balance between power and portability.

Improved Specifications and Upgraded Features

The M3 MacBook Air features a faster 8-core CPU, up to 10-core GPU, and 24GB of unified memory. Apple has also called the new M3 MacBook Air the “world’s best consumer laptop for ai”, thanks to its faster 16-core Neural Engine. These new M3 Macs are up to 60% faster compared to the M1 MacBook Air models.

Another highlight feature is support for up to two external displays, an essential upgrade from the single display on previous Apple Silicon Macs. However, it’s important to note that this feature only works when the laptop lid is closed.

Improved Connectivity and Design

The new MacBook Air also offers Wi-Fi 6E support, providing up to 2x faster Wi-Fi performance. Additionally, it includes Voice Isolation and Wide Spectrum microphone modes for crystal clear Website audio integration during calls.

Design-wise, the M3 MacBook Air looks very similar to its M2 predecessor, featuring a flat-edged chassis and a slim bezel screen with a notch cutout holding a 1080p FaceTime camera. A Magic Keyboard with Touch ID integrated into the power button comes standard.

Pricing and Availability

The 13-inch MacBook Air with M3 chip starts at $1,099 and $999 for students. The 15-inch M3 Air model begins at $1,299 and $1,199 for students. Apple is maintaining the same price points as the previous M2 models, which have seen discounts.

Both 13-inch and 15-inch models are now available for pre-order, with shipping starting as early as March 8. The new MacBook Air comes in four stunning color options: Midnight, Starlight, Space grey, and Silver.
