Exclusive Renders of Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 Reveal Bolder Design

Get ready for Samsung’s next major foldable release, the Galaxy Z Fold 6. Though we’ve only heard rumors about its features, its design remains a mystery. That is, until now. Leaker Steve H.McFly (OnLeaks) has shared the first renders of the Galaxy Z Fold 6, and the device’s design seems more daring and sharper.

Boxier Design: A Bolder Look for Samsung’s Foldable

One of the most noticeable things in the renders is that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 appears more boxy than its predecessor. The corners and displays have less rounded edges, making the sides sharper. Additionally, the camera bump seems a bit larger.

Is it a Sony or Samsung?

A closer look at the renders suggests that the phone might resemble a Sony model due to its sharper design. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 appears much more like a businessman’s phone because of its bold look, similar to the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2.

Familiar Features and Specifications

The rest of the pictures hint at dual stereo speakers – one at the top and another at the bottom. The phone also features a USB-C port at the bottom, along with volume rockers and a fingerprint sensor on the right side, identical to the Z Fold 5.

Size Matters: Slightly Wider and Shorter

The overall dimensions of the Z Fold 6, when unfolded, are 153.5 x 132.5 x 6.1 mm. This makes the device 2.6 mm wider and 1.4 mm shorter than its predecessor, while keeping the thickness at 6.1mm.

What’s Underneath?

Details on the Galaxy Z Fold 6’s specifications are not yet known, but it is assumed to come with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, UFS 4.0 storage, and up to 16GB of RAM. It’s also likely that Samsung kept the cameras, charging speeds, and battery capacity the same.

Stagnant Innovation or Economizing on Design?

Some might have expected significant changes in the Z Fold 6, but these first leaks don’t point to that direction. With a lack of groundbreaking differences between the Z Fold 5 and the Z Fold 6, some speculate that Samsung might be running out of design ideas or wanting to use their old formula as much as possible.

Affordability and the Future of Galaxy Foldables

Despite a somewhat underwhelming design update, there’s always a chance that Samsung might surprise us with a lower price point for the Z Fold 6 compared to the Z Fold 5. Only time will tell.
